Senior College - F.Y.B.Com
The Senior College offers University of Mumbai's under-graduate programmes in Commerce, and self-financed programmes like Banking and Insurance and Management Studies for bachelor's degree. Besides, the College offers two batches (one in the morning and the other in the evening), of Master of Commerce of the University. The Senior College starts at 8:10 am and ends at 12:25 pm. The details of the programmes are given below:
 
F.Y.B.Com.
First Year (F.Y. B.Com.) is the entry point into the three years degree course in Commerce. The First year as well as the Second year has semester system. The Third Year has a full year's curriculum.

Eligibility and Rules of admission to F.Y.B.Com.
Those students who have passed the H.S.C. examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education, Mumbai Division / or equivalent in their very first attempt in all subjects are eligible for admission to the F.Y.B.Com; however the admissions are finalized on the basis of the merit lists as per the instructions of the University of Mumbai, keeping the reserved categories intact as per the government rules.
 
Documents to be Submitted with the Application Form
1. An attested photocopy of Marks Sheet
2. An attested photocopy of Migration Certificate in case of the candidates who belong to other states
3. An attested photocopy of Eligibility Certificate in case of the candidates who belong to Boards other than Maharashtra     Board (eligibility certificate is issued by the University.)
 
Documents to be submitted with the Application Form in Case of Candidates who belong to Reserved Category
1. Documents mentioned above
2. An attested photocopy of Caste Certificate in case of Reserved Category Quota.
3. An attested photocopy of Non-Creamy Layer Certificate in case of the candidates who belong to OBC, NT-C and      NT-D
4. Attested photocopies of Certificate/s of achievement/s only at district, state, national and international level,
      in case of  candidates who belong to Sports Quota
5. Attested photocopies of valid Activity Certificate/s in case of the candidates who belong to Cultural Quota
6. An attested photocopy of the certificate from competent government authority certifying the nature and percentage of     disability, in case of the candidates who belong to handicapped Quota
7. An attested photocopy of the Certificate from Commanding Officer, in case of Defense Quota
8. An attested photocopy of the documentary proof in case of women who are widowed/separated
9. An attested photocopy of documentary proof, in case of children/grandson of Freedom Fighter

For refund of Caution Money and Library Deposit, the fee receipt and the No Dues Certificate from the concerned authority are necessary.
The Students from Boards / Universities other than Maharashtra will have to pay the Certificate Verification fee as per the University.
 
Examination and Evaluation
For F.Y.B.Com, two examination are taken by the College on behalf of the University, First Term-End is held in October and Second Term End Examination in April. Each Exam is assigned 50 marks in each of the above-mentioned subjects, except in case of Mathematics and Statistics, and Business Communication where 10 marks are assigned to tutorials. Marks secured by a student in a subject in the two term-end exams are added to get total marks in that subject out of 100, thus each subject at F.Y.B.Com. level has 100 marks.
 
Students who do not attend all tutorials of both the subjects will be declared failed, in spite of securing minimum passing marks of 35.
 
ATKT is allowed in two subjects only. Students with deficiency of marks in more than two subjects will be declared failed. Students with ATKT/s in particular subject/s will have to take exam on full syllabus of first term as well as second term of that/those subject/s.
